O'Reilly.comUG Program Newsletter

Hi there—

bookshelf Thanks to everyone who requested a copy of slide:ology last month. Send me a link to your slide presentation that uses Nancy's suggestions and I'll share them in a future newsletter and blog about them on oreilly.com. And just in case you want to see more from Nancy, here's a recent webcast.

Has an O'Reilly book, conference, or course helped you or someone you know? Did you keep a job, get a better job, or change direction entirely? We want to hear about it. Please ask around at your next meeting and see if anyone wants to share their story with us by sending me an email.

With Adobe's recent announcement of CS4, O'Reilly's been busy working with our authors to keep you up-to-date. Soon we'll have new versions of our One-on-One and Missing Manual series and we're adding a few new books such as "Photoshop CS4 The Missing Manual," "The Photoshop CS4 Companion for Photographers," and "Photoshop CS4 Channels & Masks One-on-One." Read this blog post for the full scoop.

And Deke McClelland has a new video called "Photoshop CS4: Buy or Die". CS4 fliers are available for your group too. Do you need some?

I'm looking for people to read our new "Head First Statistics" and "Head First Physics." These books are designed to be used as a supplement study guide for the College Board's Advanced Placement exams. Do you know students, teachers, parents, or anyone that might be interested in looking over a copy?

Travel update: I'll be attending Austin Maker Faire October 18 and 19 in Texas, Professional Developers Conference October 27-30 in Los Angeles, and Adobe Max November 16-19 in San Francisco. Are you going to any of these events? Please let me know and we can try and meet up.

We've also got a new community page on O'Reilly. Look for our "O'Reilly Spoken Here" posters you can print yourself, read our featured review (maybe it's yours), or see what's new in our blogs.

(It's) a reality bubble." Indeed, in the wake of Wall Street's tumble and anxiety all around, Tim is asking people to think about what they would do differently and to "work on stuff that matters."
